My name is Devon Hocker-de Lima. I'm a Southern California native who is now living a bi-coastal life, traveling back & forth from, “The OC" to Washington DC. 

I'm a mother of two, my son is 30, and my daughter is 28. Both of my kids are married to wonderful people.  Motherhood has always been my favorite role, but I've also enjoyed two entrepreneurial careers as both Publisher of Orange County Magazine, and as the Broker & owner of a real estate brokerage in California named Veranda Realty. I have a real estate brokers license in DC as well, with a Veranda division there too.

I'm a happily re-married empty nester who is an eternal optimist with a perpetually cheery disposition, which is how my husband came up with the name, "Cheery Devon'" for this blog. 

I'm hoping to share some daily bits of joy from my life with you.  

If you followed me from the start, you may remember my cute little, 13 year old, side kick named Coco. She was my codependent co-star, who is no longer with us, but since the internet lives on forever, I'm happy to have her adorable little face here on this page. for us all to enjoy.
